Two leopard carcasses have been recovered from the forests of Uttarakhand’s Kumaon area within the final two days, forest officers stated.
A carcass of a 12-year-old feminine leopard was present in Bageshwar district on Thursday night and a four-year-old feminine leopard was discovered lifeless in Ramnagar in Nainital district on Wednesday.

BS Shaahi, divisional forest officer of Bageshwar stated, “On Thursday night, locals from Majiyakhet village noticed the leopard’s carcass and knowledgeable us. Our staff rushed to the spot and after recovering the carcass, it was despatched for a autopsy examination. That is the fourth leopard carcass to be discovered within the Kumaon area inside a month. On December 11, a four-year-old leopard was discovered lifeless in Ramnagar.
