The Sabarimala temple will open on December 30 at 5 pm for the annual competition of ‘Makaravilakku’, officers stated on Monday.
As per an announcement from the Travancore Devasom Board (TDB), pilgrims shall be allowed entry to the temple from the morning of December 31, 2020 until January 19, 2021. The temple shall be closed on January 20.
The digital queue reserving for the pilgrimage might be performed on-line from the official web site of the temple from December 28, it stated.
Entry to the temple shall be restricted to solely 5,000 pilgrims per day.
In mild of the continuing pandemic, a Covid-negative certificates, taken inside 48 hours of the pilgrimage, shall be necessary for Ayyappa devotees visiting from December 31, the TDB stated.
“Those that don’t have a Covid take a look at adverse certificates won’t be allowed entry into Sabarimala. There can be no Covid-19 testing facility at Nilakkal,” it additional stated.
Makaravilakku is a 41-day lengthy annual puja competition celebrated on the shrine of Sabarimala.
