Telangana seeks funds for textile initiatives in price range

The Telangana authorities not too long ago sought allocation of funds within the 2021-22 union price range for growth of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) and sanction of a mega energy loom cluster at Sircilla. In a letter to textiles minister Smriti Irani, state minister KT Rama Rao stated KMTP is being developed at an estimated value of ₹1,552 crore of which the core infrastructure works would value ₹1,094 crore.

“Beneath the proposed scheme, we perceive that a complete of ₹500 crore capital help is accessible for a Mega Textile Park. We request that roughly ₹300 crore of this quantity be launched on the earliest to kick-start main exterior infrastructure works urgently wanted on the park,” he stated in his letter.

Requesting the Irani to determine a mega energy loom cluster at Sircilla below the Complete Energy loom Cluster Growth Scheme (CPCDS), Rao stated as many as 35,588 energy looms are in Telangana, with 25,495 within the Sircilla sistrict, a information company reported.

The state minister additionally requested the central authorities to sanction an Indian Institute of Handloom Know-how for Telangana.
