India’s division for promotion of trade and inner commerce (DPIIT) just lately launched high quality management norms for leather-based footwear, together with anti-riot sneakers to comprise imports and manufacturing of sub-standard home merchandise. Based on a DPIIT notification, the merchandise must conform to the required requirements and bear the usual mark below a licence from the Bureau of Indian Requirements (BIS).

The order got here into pressure from October 27.

“The BIS shall be the certifying and enforcement authority for the products,” the notification mentioned.

Nevertheless, it added that the order won’t apply to items or articles meant for export objective.

Merchandise included within the order embrace leather-based security boots and sneakers, canvas sneakers rubber sole, sports activities footwear and derby sneakers.

DPIIT has additionally launched the standard management order for footwear produced from all-rubber and polymeric materials and its elements. These items embrace industrial and protecting rubber knee and ankle boots; PVC sandal; rubber hawai chappal; rubber microcellular sheets.
