JNUSU begins indefinite sit-in demanding phased return of scholars to campus : The Tribune India

New Delhi, October 18

The Jawaharlal Nehru College College students’ Union (JNUSU) has began an indefinite sit-in on the college gate to demand a phased return of scholars to the campus.

On Saturday, the scholars’ union took out the “Unlock JNU March” from the Chandrabhaga Hostel. Greater than 100 college students participated within the march and a subsequent dharna, the JNUSU stated.

The march culminated on the North Gate with the dharna staged by college students.

The march was addressed by JNUSU office-bearers, together with its normal secretary Satish Chandra, who stated, “College students have to be allowed inside in a phased method. Researchers have their submissions in December. Many have their books and laptops of their hostel rooms, which now stand double-locked. How is analysis even potential with out such essential issues? Correct SOP, together with testing and quarantine facility, have to be ensured by the JNU administration.”

College students have put up a brief tent close to the primary entrance. They spent the entire night time there and have resolved to stage the sit-in till the college administration begins calling college students again to the campus.
