Pakistani troops engaged in heavy firing and shelling on ahead areas and posts alongside the Line of Management (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Friday in violation of a ceasefire settlement, officers stated.
Indian Military personnel retaliated to the Pakistani fireplace within the Mankote sector befittingly, they stated.
A defence spokesperson stated, “At about 0515 hours in the present day, Pakistan Military initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling mortars alongside LoC in Mankote sector in district Poonch.”
Pakistani troops have violated the ceasefire for 18 occasions this month.
On Thursday, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was injured in Pakistani shelling within the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.
On October 1, an Military jawan was killed and one other injured when the Pakistan Military violated the ceasefire alongside the LoC within the Krishnagati space of Poonch district, officers stated.
An Military personnel was killed and two others, together with an officer, have been injured on September 5 when Pakistani troops opened heavy fireplace and shelled the Line of Management within the Sunderbani sector, officers stated.
On September 2, a JCO was killed within the ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Military alongside the LoC in Keri sector of Rajouri.
