A 47-year-old lady fell off a shifting autorickshaw and was dragged on the highway for a couple of metres whereas resisting a snatching try by two bike-borne males in South Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan. The incident happened on Tuesday and the lady, Varsha, who works as a Youngster Growth officer for the Delhi authorities, was injured, police mentioned. The lady informed police that she was on her approach house after leaving from her workplace in Sunder Nagar round four pm.
“The accused got here from behind and tried to grab her bag whereas she was seated within the auto. She held onto the bag even after falling from the car and being dragged on the highway for a couple of metres. The accused then left the bag and fled the spot,” mentioned an officer.
The lady, who sustained accidents on her head, was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. Police mentioned the lady is secure now and the investigating officer has taken her assertion.
Varsha’s husband, R B Sagar, mentioned he works for the Ministry of Defence as a bit officer. “On Tuesday, I used to be house after I obtained a name in regards to the accident. We went to AIIMS and located that Varsha sustained accidents on her head and was unconscious. There was a blood clot inside her head, which is being handled now. She is feeling higher and likewise spoke to the police. We would like police to catch the culprits quickly. Such incidents mustn’t occur,” mentioned Sagar.
The auto driver, who takes Varsha to her workplace each day, rushed her to the hospital and likewise knowledgeable the household.
DCP (Southeast) R P Meena mentioned, “We obtained a name from the spot on the day of the incident. When the IO reached, he discovered that an auto driver took the injured lady to the hospital. Initially, a highway visitors accident case was registered. After we took the auto driver’s assertion, a case was registered below IPC part 394 (voluntarily inflicting damage in committing theft) in opposition to unknown individuals”.
