Congress chief and spokesperson Udit Raj on Thursday evoked sharp reactions from the BJP for saying that UP authorities was unsuitable to organise the Kumbh in Allahabad and spending on it.
“No spiritual teachings and rituals to be funded by the federal government. The state doesn’t have its faith. UP authorities spent Rs four,200 crore in organising the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad and that too was unsuitable,” Raj stated in a tweet including that this was his private opinion and never of the Congress.
Raj stated his assertion was in respect of Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s remarks that the state shouldn’t fund spiritual training.
BJP attacked Raj saying he was mirroring Congress’ mindset.
BJP spokesman Sambit Patra hit again tweeting, “Buddies, that is the reality of the Gandhi household. First they gave an affidavit within the Supreme Courtroom saying Lord Rama is an creativeness and now Priyanka Vadra ji says that Kumbh mela must also be closed. That’s why the world says Rahul and Priyanka are opportunistic Hindus.”
Raj stated he by no means argued for Kumbh to be closed and solely questioned its state funding.
