Members of Bharti Kisan Union (Ugrahan) gheraoed Mansa deputy commissioner’s (DC) workplace Monday morning, demanding compensation over the unintended demise of 80-year-old Tej Kaur, who allegedly collapsed on the practice tracks whereas collaborating in a protest on October 9.
Kaur was resident of village Naked in Budhlada constituency of Mansa district and would commonly take part in farmer dharnas.
On October 9, she allegedly misplaced her steadiness whereas crossing the tracks at Budhlada railway station, and died after her fall.
After her demise, the farmer union began demanding compensation price Rs 10 lakh, a job for a member of the family and waiver of Kaur’s household’s money owed.
“We had knowledgeable DC Mansa about this incident on October 9 itself and had a gathering with him Monday morning as effectively however when issues didn’t work out, we began indefinite dharna outdoors mini secretariat and it’ll proceed until our calls for are met,” mentioned a member of the union.

Joginder Singh Dyal, block president of BKU(Ugrahan) Budhlada mentioned,”As our talks failed, we now have determined to proceed the dharna.
