The NHRC has issued discover to the Uttar Pradesh authorities and the state’s police chief in reference to the gang rape of a 19-year-old Dalit lady in Hathras district, officers stated on Wednesday.
The lady, who was battling for her life after the assault, died at Safdarjung Hospital on Tuesday.
The Nationwide Human Rights Fee (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance in reference to the “gang rape and brutality of a 19-year-old ladies belonging to the Scheduled Caste in Hathras district”, the rights panel stated in a press release.
In response to stories, she had gone lacking on September 14 and was present in a badly injured situation on September 22, and was subjected to gang rape and brutality in Hathras over two weeks in the past, it stated.
The Fee has despatched notices to the chief secretary of the state authorities and the Director Basic of Police of Uttar Pradesh, the officers stated.
On September 14, the younger lady had gone to the fields together with her mom and went lacking quickly after. She was discovered later, overwhelmed and tortured, her tongue reduce as she bit it when the accused tried to strangle her.
She was first admitted to Aligarh Muslim College’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical School and Hospital after which shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Monday. — PTI
