Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday stated a senior state IPS officer has been relieved of duties, after a video exhibiting him assaulting his spouse went viral on social media.

Within the video, Madhya Pradesh Director Common of Police (Prosecution) Purushottam Sharma is seen thrashing his spouse, whereas the latter is seen resisting the assault.

“The officer has been relieved of his duties. Motion shall be taken towards anybody who holds a accountable place, however indulges in unlawful actions and taking legislation into his arms,” the chief minister stated.

There is no such thing as a official affirmation to reviews that the IPS officer was caught red-handed by his spouse of 32 years at a lady’s home, after which he assaulted her.
